California Instruments Corporation announced the release of a new true current source, the CS Series. The CS Series is a line of current-controlled current sources for precise current applications. The first of its kind on the market, the CS Series is a high-power, programmable, precise current source.

Until now, many engineers have resorted to building their own current sources, as only very low-powered current sources have been commercially available.
Applications include circuit breaker testing, power diode testing, and watt-hour meter calibration.

The CS Series models are available in power levels from 3 kVA to 18 kVA. They offer extensive programmability, including arbitrary waveform generation and a built-in power analyzer.
